MoU Simbu PHA – NDoH

Simbu Provincial Health Authority signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the National Department of Health (NDoH) and the Kerowagi District Development Authority in Port Moresby yesterday, to better deliver health services to the people of Simbu Province.

Present at the signing were Chairman and members of the Simbu Provincial Health Authority, the Kerowagi District Development Authority and the National Department of Health.

The MoU signing was facilitated by the Provincial Advisor for Partnerships & Governance, Kapi Negeram.

As the officer responsible for signing of MoUs and MoAs, Mr. Negeram said he was honored to facilitate the signing of the MoU between the Simbu PHA and the Kerowagi HA.

“This time is very important and I hope my minister and my secretary agree with me, this time and its very important step forward when this is a milestone and also a step forward for other DDAs to follow because there has been a missing link, while all the Provincial Health Authorities have been instituted in this country to implement PHA rollout in this country, but there were gaps between PHAs and DHAs,” said Mr Negeram.

There are two agreements which will support the working partnership between the two government bodies.

It is anticipated that other DDAs in the country would follow suit in such collaborations between the Provincial Health Authorities and the District Health Authorities for the effective and efficient health service delivery in this country
