On October 13, 2025 SiPHA Kundiawa Provincial Hospital significantly upgraded its patient monitoring capacity today with the formal presentation of a new Capnography machine to the Anesthetic Department.
The brief handover ceremony took place in the hospital’s Operating Theatre, where Dr. J. Ande, Acting Director Curative Health Services (A/DCHS), officially presented the equipment to Mr. Anton Yule, Officer-in-Charge of the Anaesthetic Department. The OT Senior Incharge and departmental staff were also present for the event.
The vital equipment was a generous donation to the SiPHA Kundiawa Anaesthetic Department from Chief Anaesthetist Dr. Nora Dai, following her attendance at the recent medical symposium anaesthetic speciality meeting.
A Capnography machine is essential for real-time patient monitoring during general anaesthesia, providing critical data on ventilation and respiration.
To ensure its optimal and immediate use, Dr. Ande confirmed that Dr. Dan Aisi, an Anaesthetist from Angau Memorial Hospital, will be coming to Kundiawa on October 19th. Dr. Aisi will conduct thorough training for the local team on the machine’s functions and usage.
Dr. Ande thanked the donor and highlighted the hospital’s commitment to enhancing patient safety through advanced equipment and continuous professional education
