In a landmark event for Simbu PHA, the Digicel Foundation PNG presented much needed Solar Fridge to Simbu PHA on Sunday 16th of November 2025.

As a huge philanthropic organisation globally, Digicel Foundation PNG was established in 2008 and has so far given back to the PNG Communities projects worth over K200 million.

When they were approached in early March this year by the CEO for Simbu PHA, Digicel Foundation PNG’s commitment to give one Solar Fridge was realised in August when the donation and installation was completed. Due to busy schedules and Polio Campaign, the presentation was deferred till today. This Solar Fridge is worth over K90000 and will go along way to strengthen the cold chain system in immunization program in public health space in light of frequent power blackouts in Chuave Health system. Similar Solar Fridge Rollout will be replicated in the other five districts of Simbu Province after this.

For the better health of our children, this much needed donation is highly appreciated and CEO Simbu PHA and Director Public Health expressed huge gratitude to Acting CEO Digicel Foundation PNG Ms. Valda Kereu and Board and Executive Management of Digicel PNG and Pacific.
